Barchart - Sugar prices fell on Tuesday, with NY sugar dropping to a 1.5-week low as a stronger dollar ($DXY) spurred long liquidation in sugar futures.
Excessive long positions by commodity funds could exacerbate any long liquidation pressure in sugar futures. Last Friday’s weekly Commitment of Traders (COT) report showed funds boosted their long NY sugar positions by +28,055 net long positions in the week ended September 8 to 160,551, the most in almost three years.
