Barchart - Sugar prices recovered from early losses on Thursday and settled higher as dollar weakness spurred some short covering in sugar futures. 

Sugar prices were initially under pressure on Thursday amid a -3% decline in crude oil (CLN26). The weakness in crude oil undercuts ethanol prices and could prompt the world’s sugar mills to divert more cane crushing to sugar production rather than ethanol, thus boosting sugar supplies.
